I feel that the lack of compassion in our schools has lead to alot of the school shootings. And this is not just the schools fault this is the parents faults to. Currently our school has started giving detention for children touching each other, and I dont mean inappropriate touch I mean putting you're hand on someones arm to get attention ,or on thier shoulder. Two girls recently gave each other a hug because they were excited over an achievement in sports and these girls got detention. If we teach our children not to care about each other why do we find it surprising to see them shooting each other and not careing. Enough is enough parents need to start taking a stand I am Im challeging the no touch rule at the school board meeting this Thursday. Do we want non caring robots or do we want to raise compasionate careing child its our choice. Its not the gun laws its what we are teaching the children
Social misfits, violent video games, violent movies and TV, lack of a family home life like it was 30 or more years ago, lack of religion (not starting a religious debate but religion did and does teach good morals) , schools becoming more like country clubs than a formal institution and this leads to a lack of respect of authority, life's faster pace can lead to quick frustration, decline in respect for our fellow humans and life, liberals who believe criminals actions are caused by society and that takes away the concept we are responsible for our own actions and criminals are to be treated like they are the victims.
Don't get into a debate on guns. Since 1964 more gun control laws have been written than any other area of law, it's more restrictive than it was prior to 1964 and gets more so every year. If the VT shooter couldn't buy one in the store he would have got one illegally on the black market. Guns have always been available, the question is why are there so many more psycho's in society now than prior to 1996 ( just to use your date).
But it's not only school shootings. Look at the rise of child abuse, sexual molesters, child abductions, and crimes of that nature. Priest rape little boys and the Church covers it up, just an example of what is going on in Society and nobody gets any major punishment. Society is on a decline. Roll us back 50 years and we'll all be better off.
