Am I too old for this? (I'm almost 30) and I have no science classes except for those basic classes taken my freshman year in college (BAD GRADES).
What would I need to do to get started? Been out of school for many years.
Answers:
go back to school your never to old
you will need to go to nursing school, get your RN degree, then go on to get a masters in nursing for PA. You are NOT too old, I am in nursing school at 31. And many of my classmates are older people. You will need to get all your biology pre-reqs, though, but that shouldnt take too long... you could probably do that online, too.
You are never too old. Do not forget this. My mom didn't realize what she wanted to do until she was nearly 40!
Physician assistants, in my area, only need associates degrees in that area. (If you are thinking more along the lines of RN, that is a completely different Bachelors Degree.) Community colleges accept everyone, so your bad science grades won't matter. You will simply have to re-take the bad grade classes.
In your area, it may only require something as simple as a certification. Call your local community college and talk to them!
Good luck!
