I did a 33 page report on the JFK Assassination.
You could go into the details of the assassination itself, the Zapruder film, the magic bullet theory, conspiracy theories. (However, in my report, I didn't even mention any conspiracy theories, and it was 33 pages without that).
Go into details about each person's life, Lee Havery Oswald, JFK, Jack Ruby (the guy who killed Oswald).
That kinda stuff.
Or you could talk about a few conspiracy theories.
a) Grassy Knoll
b) Mofia set up Oswald as a patsy
c) Vice-President Johnson had JFK killed
d) Communists killed him
e) etc, etc
What type of history is you class? Example: Is it American History?
If you want to stick with the Holocaust like themes, you could do Stalin's purges which he had millions of people murdered, and how he stuck people in Gulags (concentration camps). You can compare and contrast them to the Nazi concentration camps.
You could do a report on the Knights Templar. they were a group of christian knights that protected pilgrams on their journeys. they are the most mysterious group to do research on them. they were also the worlds first bankers. check them out. Loads of information
I think you need to be more specific. If you do the Holocaust - get a narrower topic with in that;
like 1. the events that let up to it or 2. the citizens who hid the Jews (like Americas underground railroad - Corrie Tin Boom story) or 3. The White Rose - a group of German College students who printed pamphlets against the Nazi's - their execution.
Does that help? Send me a copy...

Henry 8th was born in 1491 to his father and mother, King Henry 7th and Elizabeth of York. Henry’s older brother Arthur was married to a Lady called Katherine of Aragon, but he died before he had chance to become king. When Henry 7th died, then his second son Henry became the new King.

Wife N0 1
Katherine Of Aragon Married June 11th 1509,
Greyfriars Church,

Marriage- Divorced- 1533,
Died- Natural causes-1536.
It was customary in those days to marry the widow of an older brother, so Henry in respecting this, married his late brother Arthur’s wife. Katherine of Aragon became Henry 8th’s first wife. Katherine was a Spanish princess. Henry and Katherine had many children but only one survived, a little girl called Mary. Katherine was getting to old to have any more children so Henry divorced her so he could marry someone younger and have the boy he wanted to succeed him.

After Katherine Henry fell in love with Anne Boleyn. They got married in 1533 and also had a number of children again only one survived, Elizabeth. Henry badly wanted a boy and after quarrelling Henry had Anne sent to the Tower where she was beheaded. This allowed him to marry again, may be a boy would be born to another wife.

Henry had not been married for a number of years and was enjoying life with his son. His two daughters were kept away from him in royal palaces elsewhere. He was sent a royal portrait of a young princess which potrayed a beautiful young woman. Henry immediately sent for her and when she arrived they were married. Not a lot is known about this final marriage. Henry always wanted more boys to succeed him. All his wives had had children, but due to the medical knowledge of the times and hygiene not all children survived. Catherine bore no children that survived and both her and Henry were getting old. Henry died leaving Catherine, a Kings widow. Catherine then disappeared into the background of court life.

Go to sites like Wikipedia and fill in facts that are about the subject in the section that you wrote about. Make sure it sounds nice and don't put random facts teachers hate that.
I did a term paper on the Holocaust and I filled up 11 pages so I think you should be good.
There was a book released recently talking about how the Chinese actually discovered America but the ships who discovered us did not return for many years and some not at all. Some of the proof was that there was evidence of trade amongst people of the middle east and American Indians well before Christopher Columbus and his Spanish Crew came here. It is EXTREMELY interesting and I forget the name of the author but if you go into Borders or Barnes & Noble and ask, they will be able to track it down for you. Good luck and hope this helps.
i agree with james... the knights templar are very interesting... i would also suggest checking into the freemasons. it was really popular during the american revoution, and a lot of america's founders were freemasons. they influenced a lot of aspects of out government. there's also some who believe that they were a cult trying to take over the new american government. interesting stuff, and you could probably find tons of info on it. good luck with your paper!
I am a history major and have had to do lots of papers. the best subject i the one you really like. if you have no passion for the subject then 10-12 pages is going to be hell.
