If you're too old to be enrolled in a typical high school, then check out local community colleges, sometimes they offer fairly inexpensive GED prep programs. Taking the test itself shouldn't be too expensive.
You really can't get a HS diploma without graduating HS that I know of - but you could get a GED (General Education Development) which is similar.
