The average GPA for all levels of school vary from school to school. Although C (2.0) is often spoken of as an average grade, actually the average GPA for all levels of school at every school are much higher than that now. It all depends on how hard or easy each teacher grades.

Grade inflation is awarding higher grades than what is considered average for the school the teacher is working in. Through the years the average for one school usually rises through the years.

Weighted is for AP classes that are graded on a 5.0 scale.
Unweighted is where they are rated on a 4.0 scale.
