Yes, I did. Even though my room was tiny and I shared it with another person, it was great to be so close to class and get to know so many different people. It lacked the responsibility of 'truly' living alone (in an apartment or house), yet it had the benefits that come along with not being restricted by parents and family. I would do it again. In fact, I am doing it again. : )
May God bless you.
YES!
would love to do it again
Yes, my brother loves it! He says it is awesome to get out of the house and actually live by yourself! He says I mean a house with no rules and what not! My best friend loves it to! He said he doesn't like the whole cooking for himself thing though!
Yes and no. I lived on campus off and on over a 5 year period. I never had a car, so living on campus was very convenient in that respect. I could walk everywhere, just about, and was always close to class and friends.
My first 3 years I really enjoyed being on campus for all of the above reasons. The last 2 years, I started getting pretty bored of it because I felt closed off from the real world--all I saw were college students every day since I never went off campus except to go to the grocery store (where, of course, all the college students shopped...). I also got pretty sick of the hard, uncomfortable dorm couches and chairs, though my bed and desk were fantastic. I wanted to live somewhere bigger and get a pet. My first semester off campus I felt very liberated!
My advice to you: live on campus for a year, see if you like it. I think it's great for a while, especially if you are new somewhere and getting to know the area. If you start to get sick of living on campus, then you just go ahead and move off-campus!
good luck!
