Cumulative gpa?

Question:I'm a senior in high school this fall and my cumulative gpa as they SAY it is right now is a 3.47. I'm very upset by that because i've recieved good grades my whole life and I don't want my GPA hindering my college admittance. I want to recalculate my cumulative gpa myself because quite frankly, I don't trust my school with anything. (small school, horrible teachers/faculty).

I already tried searching online how to figure it out, but I just haven't seemed to find anything that I could work with. I need to calculate from freshmen to junior year.

thanks for all your help.

Answers:
Figuring out your GPA is a pretty easy thing to do. First, look at your grades - an A is 4 points, B is 3, C is 2, D is 1 and F is zero. Add up all your grades, then divide by the number of classes.

So if you had an A, a C and a B, you'd add 4+2+3, for 9, then divide by 3. Your GPA in this case would be 3.0.

Another thing to keep in mind is that in HS, sometimes PE classes are included. A lot of universities don't care how well you played dodgeball - so leave these out when calculating.

A 3.47 is not a bad GPA - if you do well on your SAT/ACT test, you should be able to attend a pretty decent university.
Don't be too discouraged, thats an excellent GPA. Word of advice for when you start sending out resume's...ALWAYS round your GPA up. You got a 3.5 which is honors! Congrats!
