It probably depends upon where you live. Where I live, I would opt for the public school system, but that would not be the choice in all parts of the world.
depends on the school. Some govt schools can be very good, and so can many private. I know some people who see private schools as 'spoon feeding' children and that they essentially buy their grades rather than earn them. I went to a private school when i was very young and it was great, and now i go to a grammar school which i absolutely love. I have some of the best teachers. Where i live, in fact, many grammar schools are doing better than private.
Overall i really think it depends...u can't generalize as some govt schools may be better than some private and vice versa.
