How old do you have to be to drop out of school and get a ged yourself?

With parents consent it is 16 years of age to drop out (In MA). If you are 18 you can drop out without you parent's consent. I think you can go for you ged at 18, but im not sure on that.
16 in Massachusetts, but just so you know no employer takes a GED seriously.
