Only if someone over there is looking for someone to hire.
Yep, my friend has a BA in IT & is teaching at a college.
I can teach in a college too when i qualify from my course.
I am sure you can get a job teaching anywhere. But if you want to be a lecturer - I think you need a P.G.C.E - not sure - you'll need to approach your graduate job centre...
Probably, but i think university lecturers should be aiming for a PHD. Do a little research and see what the requirement is. If you want to teach at school level then you need a PGCE. Good Luck!x
Depends what you intend to lecture IN, I suppose!
You don't need a PGCE to teach at university level in the UK (I don't know about Ireland, but doubt you do there either), but if you want to follow an academic career, you're best off doing a PhD. Research tends to be at least as important to university departments as teaching, so they tend to employ people they know are capable of doing that research.
That said, you may well be able to get work in a college without a PhD. In that case, I imagine that a teaching qualification or teaching experience would definitely be a bonus. TEFL is an easy and fun way to pick this kind of experience up, though not necessarily in the area you want.
Really, the best people to speak to about this would be your tutors from previous degrees.
Good luck!
