Study in university campus or else?

Question:what are teh benefits of studying in university campus and other college? does that affects 1)quality of lectures 2) Lifestyle 3)job prospects ( on campus placements)

Answers:
G'day,

If you want to study Masters course in Australia, you can only study in university. Most colleges in Australia only offers non-degree courses. So there are no other choice for you.

In regards to work, as an international student in Australia, you can apply for work permit once arrived in Australia. You can only work max 20hrs/week during study period, and full-time only during semester holiday period. So you cannot rely on income from Australia to support yourself. Please budget yourself carefully.

Good luck for your study mate :)
I think the benefits for a freshman are actually with an institution that is primarily an undergraduate college rather than a large university.

The terms college and university are often used interchangeably, however, but there are some differences. For one thing, the word "university" is used primarily for institutions which offer four-year bachelors degrees and graduate programs. Originally, universities were all research institutions, but in the past few decades, a lot of places have felt that there was a prestige factor involved in being called a university, and they have changed their names from "college" to "university".

As to quality of lectures, at a large university many freshman courses are taught by doctoral students, some of whom are not cut out to be teachers. The renowned professors often are primarily involved in research and their teaching is at the graduate level - they definitely won't be teaching freshmen. The teachers in colleges that are primarily undergraduate spend most of their time teaching.

Campus job prospects would definitely be better at an undergraduate college than at a university, where the better jobs will be offered to graduate students.
