Physics, in physics you have to both learn and understand concepts to apply them and the concepts that build upon them. Nearly ever subject 'taught' in schools these days is rote memorization.

my math teacher told me once the hardest subject is -statistics- because you have to take real-life data and turn it into math... and almost always you've approached the problem totally wrong, you must correct for error, etc.

LOGIC! I took that course instead of calculus thinking it would be easier but it was like learning a new English-Mathematical language, it was a nightmare but I passed it after a lot of hard work.
