Horry County Schools is generally considered to be one of the better school districts in the state of South Carolina.
I have to agree with the answer above - the Carolina Forest school system is generally the best in the county. Of course, being an alumni of Carolina Forest High School, I'm a bit biased, but I will attest to the quality education I recieved both at CFHS and the now-defunct CFMS (has since been split into two separate middle schools).
