The popular girls usually have a clique, or a few different ones, one or two in each class of a grade and they meet at their lunch period if they have the same one, and after school if they don't.
If you are dying to be popular, try to figure out who to make friends with. Help them with homework if you understand it and they don't. To find your group, go where you like to hang out and talk to the people there. You could go to the library, outside to play, or walk around the building during lunch/recess.
