well dress code is not necessary at all but in corporate sector people wants their identity totally different from other businesses or corporates a proper dress code gives identity like if you see a person in good trouser and shirt with a nice tie with a tie pin ist thing we think of him that he is a executive so a proper dress code gives you a identification in corporate sector which also helps in same organisation wearing same dress code it develops a sense of common / equal feelings and separates you from your out side world.
The organization has an image and your dress code have to live up to the image. You either wear a uniform or if you are in a higher position, you don't have to but you have to conform to the rules of dress code for example you must wear a tie and all that.
Every workplace has a dress code from ultra casual to suit & tie. You would be wise to observe the way successful staff members dress and follow their lead.
Romi, don't get offended please but your spelling will be a much bigger problem to you in the business world than the way you dress. Work on it!
Well, Romi -- you ole "fashion plate",
The "dress code" thing is a practice that is active within the business world for one major purpose -- and that is to send a particular message to all who deal with and within the corporation that the business is of a unified mind and purpose AND that it adheres to a type of "standardized code" that is set and operative within the business communities at large !!
It also has a number of more covert and powerful messages and purposes that are not so readily prominent to the "naked eye" !! One being, that, with a uniformity of "look" within the confines of the business, no one Stands Out by way of the superficial value of variation of appearance -- and subliminally
places far more emphasis on actual work performance as a hallmark to "recognition" !!
The most important thing about dress codes within a corporation -- as far as it goes -- in meanings to YOU and I --- is that the corporation or business that hires us -- is the entity that sets the standards of behavior and practices within the context of their world --- not us !! And, as is the case on so many other subjects -- it is either comply OR move on !! And, we do have a choice of -- whether we had rather "keep our individual 'style' " , or be employed !!
