Question:I took A levels at school 10 years ago and got good results. I worked in Inusrance for five years then have been at home with 2 children for 5 years. During this time I went to a Learndirect centre and got Level 2 in English and Maths.I want to work with children but don't want to start at he bottom with studying. Can I enrol on an NVQ3 in childcare or will the college say I ahve to do NVQ2 first?
Answers:
You should be able to go straight on to a NVQ3 with these qualifications but you will need a job / placement working with young children (I thnk min. 12 hours a week) and not all colleges will find these for you, especially for a level 3.
i work with children and you can work at a nusery full time getting paid. then you can do nvq2 and 3 whilst earning
no level three is fine and you should be OK get in touch with the organisation you wish to work for or with and ask the question every local authority is different so just as good luck Dave
