i know that people have asked this question before but i feel that every situation is uniques so bare with me as i explain mine
i went to christian elementary and middle school as a child and loved it there i got a good education with good values. The past two years i have attended a public high school and have done well, my grades are good, and i have made great friends, i am also on course to take AP classes this year, all the while keeping my christian values (im a good kid, i dont drink, smoke, or do drugs..etc.). Now i have been offered a free scholoship to a just starting up, small (the junior class would only have 7 kids in it) christian high school. I think God might wants me to go to the school. But im not sure if i should give up some of the good classes i have gotten into at the public school. like the old saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it. please help me.
Answers:
which saying did God create?:
"follow my word and teachings" - If I tell you something, do it.
or
"If it aint broke, don't fix it."
exactly.
If you truly feel that God is telling you to do something, 100% do it.
"Feel the fear and do it anyway."
"The greater the risk, the greater the reward."
Good Luck!
Im not Christian, but just go with what you feel is best. If you think your god wants you to go there, and you want too obey Him, then, sure, knock yourself out. Christian school CAN be bad, though, but usually only on younger minds. I mean, just look at Marilyn Manson. He went to Christian school, and that didnt turn out so well. But if its already established that you like Christian school, as youve stated, then it wont matter
What a unique opportunity you have.
First, pray about it.
Talk to your parents about it.
I would visit the school, meet the teachers, see what resources they have. See what types of teachers you have. Will they challenge you?
It seems to me that you are a dedicated, responsible student. I believe where ever you go you will succeed! There is no right or wrong decision to your situation.
On a final note, sometimes God shouts at us & at other times, its a small whisper that we hear.
Be blessed.
You have a relationship with God.and I am sure that you have discussed this with Him through prayer.
I believe strongly that God will have your back no matter what choice you make.
You have a light on the inside of you that is needed in the public school environment...although I believe that private schools can be good, I also think that they can be isolated and not prepare you for real, raw people that you will encounter in life.
After all, Jesus did not stay in the box...he ventured out and learned about different people in different walks of life.
I believe the adventure is in the public school.and you are right...if what you are doing isnt broke...don't fix it.
Also, word to the wise.wisdom cries out in the street according to scripture.leave yourself open to what all people have to say.Christians are not the only people whose input you can benefit from.
I do not label myself a Christian...I have a relationship with God, believe Jesus is Lord, and in heaven and hell...so far...I am discovering and understanding more each day..just like everyone else who is seeking.even those non Christians that you do not want to hear from.
Keep yourself open to all that God has for you.happy hunting!
I can understand your dilemma.
I assume from your classload (ie. AP courses, etc.) that you are college bound. Are you expecting to go to an expensive Ivy League College? Have you determined what you think you want to major in when you go to college? Are you being a light in the Public School you are in?
If these AP courses are critical to your college career and you are dependent on future scholarships, etc. based on these courses it might appear ON THE SURFACE that you should stay in the school you are in. However, many scholarships are not based on course load but on testing scores (ie. SAT), GPA and the like.
If you feel that God is telling you to go to this Christian school, understand that he will provide for you in all ways. This may seem like a leap of faith (and it is) but He will take care of your needs if you obey Him.
"Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself."
Good Luck.
