Very simply to write a 3 point essay you need to pick three main arguments are points on want to hit. So then the format of you paper will be:
Introduction
Point 1
Point 2
Point 3
Conculsion
So I did a report on acid rain once and my points were: The affect on the environment, animals, and humans.
If you are supposed to use a 5 paragraph essay. First paragraph is an introduction of the essay and what 3 points you will discuss. The next 3 are used to explain the 3 different points each in a separate paragraph. Last paragraph is a conclusion to the essay. Mostly it should restate the intro and what was discussed.
