Oh, the degree will be credible alright. A lot of very reputable schools have moved online with accreditation from the best recognized agencies. UofP is good, but you might want to shop around. I found them to be expensive.
I work in information technology, a field where you either know the stuff or you don't. It doesn't really matter much where you learn the right material, as long as you have what industry is looking for.
You'll certainly appreciate the ability to study at your own pace. I've been doing it for years online, and love it. Wouldn't have it any other way. In fact, I plan to go right to PHd and expect to do it all online.
Hi! I admire you for working full-time and going to school. Many community colleges in my area offer online courses. Then, once you're finished with community college, your work transfers to a 4-year university which also offers online or flexible (meeting one night/week) courses. These are often private universities. But, I believe some state schools also offer this. See if you can check this out in your area. I am not familiar with University of Phoenix Online (I get their pop-up advertisements all the time). I hope this helped even a little. Wishing you the very best!
No I don't think you are wrong if you decide to leave the community college you are now attending and attend college on-line. Many people take on-line classes and don't feel rushed to do the work to hand in. Make it easy on yourself so you can give not 99% of yourself but a 100% of yourself.
