Well, I am not to sure if it makes a difference about what state you are in. Here in Michigan, you need and Airframe and Power-plant Certificate. It is only a certificate program at Michigan Institute or Avionics and Technology,and you can start most places entry level. Some places may require a degree which can be obtained and maybe experience. You should take a look, call a school and talk to a counselor,
as I know ,you have to have PCM in 12th then you have to prepare for engineering and compete .
afterwards its time to choose aeronautical engineering and do it with good % there after you are good enough to repair a jet .

With the event of 9/11 I would think you would have to pass a multitude of tests concerning the reason for wanting to learn this. The government has passed so many Homeland Security Laws. that just saying you "want to be one" will no longer grant you the opportunity to be one. Consistently tests come in all forms. mess up on one of those and 1-2-3 your OUT!

Hi! you are not mention that where you will stay.
Here in India One Must posses 12th(10+2) certificate with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as OPtionals. After that one should write Entrance Examination conducted by the Universities like Osmania, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities and other. If they qualify in the entrance they have to take B. Tech in Aeronutical Engg. or they can do Diploma in Aeronotical Engg.
