Is it possible to get an associate degree by...?

Question:by combining all the credits someone has gotten over the years? It would be like mixing business course credits with technical course credits and ending up with maybe a general studies degree or whatever it may be called.

Answers:
it really depends on the college and what types of courses they call 'generals' some colleges accept credits that others dont, etc. so check with whatever college you want the 'degree' from
Yes and no.

Some credit may no longer be valid. Some technical areas time-out after 5-10 years if not applied to a degree.

All of your other college level courses count, if applicable, to your AA. You might end-up closer to an AAS depending on what you have taken. You will still need to take the mandatory writing, math & sciences courses to get AA.
