Montessori School is not for every child. You would want to ask yourself several questions about your child, can he work independently, he complete tasks when he sets the pace that it needs to be done, or does he get easily sidetracked, it could be a stage your son is going through that is making him more defiant, or he could have a headstrong personality. One thing about Montessori is that they are pretty much left to figure things out themselves, when they have conflict, they talk about the conflict among themselves, and they figure alot of different abilities out on their own, if that is something that you see your child doing then Montessori could be for him. You may also want to see if you could bring your son for a day and see how he responds to the environment.
