Are there any public or private funds for preschool or day care for children in palatine, illinois?

Question:I RECENTLY SIGNED MY 3 YEAR OLD CHILD UP FOR PRESCHOOL ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT SHE WAS PUT ON A WAITING LIST. I WAS NOT TOLD WHEN I SIGNED HER UP IT WAS BASED ON A POINTS SYSTEM. I THOUGHT IT WAS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. I ALREADY GOT HER PYHSICAL, SHOTS AND DENTAL CHECK UP.I ALSO HAVE A 6 MONTH OLD CHILD.I WILL BE RETURNING TO WORK FROM MATERNITY LEAVE IN TWO WEEKS. I AM LOW INCOME AND ALL THE DAY CARE CENTERS AND NURSERY SCHOOLS I CALLED ARE ASKING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS A WEEK. I CAN'T AFFORD ANY OF THOSE. WITHOUT DAY CARE I CAN NOT WORK AND IF I CAN'T WORK WE WON'T BE ABLE TO SURVIVE. I AM DESPERATE, PLEASE RESPOND.

P.S. I DO RECIEVE A ILLINOIS PUBLIC AID CARD.

Have you tried pre-k? If not, check with your nearest school or contact the school district.
