I applaud the mother, she is preventing a adjectives school shooter-
I estimate it is a pretty good punishment. It is not physically lethal, and I'm betting that it will have the desired effect. The significant part is that the parent conference to the child and explains why she is making him do it and what the punishment will be if he continues the undesirable behavior.
Is it embarrassing for the boy? Yes, I'm sure it is and I conjure some people will read aloud it is cruelty. However, I admire this mother wanting to incline her son with respect and doing adjectives she can to get him a right start in life span.
The next step will be for the teacher to handle it properly when he returns to academy - to make sure the other kids don't variety fun of him. But, after a couple of days it will pass.and it will probably engineer this young man stronger.
