When I was in high school none of the seniors were mean. They had lives and didn't even notice the rest of us. Haha. And a few of them would actually say hi. So yeah, I think it just all depends. Or maybe its just a myth.
I was a senior once, and I was never mean to a fresman. But then again, I was also a fresman once. I don't believe there were any seniors that were mean to me.
I am a sophomore now, and the seniors last year weren't that bad. I mean, the worst they ever did is call you a "freshie" or collectively call you "stupid freshmen." I think that they are more goofy than mean mostly because it is their last year. Don't worry about seniors being mean unless you have an older sibling that is mean to you and is a senior.
It depends on what school you go to. My high school was NOTHING like they show in films or on TV. There were no major cliques that fought, or seniors beating up underclassmen. I mean, don't get me wrong, there was drama of course, but nothing like the stereotypical high school image.
P.S. my school was a normal public school, not private or Montessori or anything.
Usually seniors are too busy thinking about graduation to care about what the rest of the students are doing. There might be a few that pick the younger students but they just have nothing better to do with their lives and it's best to try to ignore them. I actually made friends with some seniors when I was a freshman.
Just don't get in their way and you should be fine!
Seniors really aren't mean, they tend to hardly notice the freshman unless of course you try to "be cool and get noticed". They won't put you in any trashcans or anything like that, that has been banned for quite some time as far as i know. If you don't give them trouble they won't give you trouble. By the end of the year its likely you'll have a senior friend or two if you are in a club or on a team. best of luck

No seniors are actually mean, most just like to joke around. They mean no harm, they just like to have a laugh and have fun
My son had the same question. He is 13 and starts HS this year. My wife said she had no problems at all. Everyone was really nice. I said that was because she was a pretty girl. It was a little different for me. Hang on to your books really tight going down the hall. They might get knocked out of your hands. Hang on to the railing going down stairs. You might get shoved. Stay alert. If they touch you, hit them. That's how they learn respect. Of course you might get beat up. But if they think you will hurt them, they will be more a little more scared.
