I am applying to a boarding school as well. First, when parents hear that their kid wants to go to a boarding school, they think that something is wrong, and that their child wants to get away. DON'T MAKE THIS THE CASE! This is how I did it. I wanted to go to a certain boarding school because of it;s really good academics, so I ordered an information packet on it, and when I told my parents of the news, I made them understand that that was the reason that I was applying to it. Just have a clear reason why you want to go, and let your parents understand how important it is to you. My parents know that I LOVE to learn, so they had no problem accepting the fact that I was applying for a really good boarding school.
