I think it is fine to admire someone and look up to them as a roll model, but there is an extent to which it can become obsessive. I think by you saying that you wanted to be him, and your appearance etc. has leaned towards his appearance etc, you have reached that point.
I think its fine. Its always good to have a positive role model to look up to and to inspire you to be a better person. If you are making positive changes in your life because of the example someone else set, then I think that's great. If you're just trying to change yourself to become as popular as he was (which I do not think you are doing this) then you would have a problem.Overall I think its great that you were able to find such a good role model.
