Organization?

Question:OK I am intelligent, I have always known that. My grade 7 teacher said I was one of the smartest kids he knows but that I was extremely unorganized. So I have never had good grades, because even though I find the assignments easy, I forget about them or misplace them. And when I got into grade 8 (Highschool) it got worse and soon the teachers assumed I was dumb. I KNOW that if I get organized I can get good grades. But everytime I try I feel silly. It may sound petty, but being disorganized is the way I am. I worry that bye getting organized I will change myself. That I won't be the same person anymore. Suggestions?

Answers:
you will be the same person, just much more organized and people will like you for that because they will see you as reliable and responsable. To get organized I would just spend a weekend doing that. Get all your school stuff home and start organizing your papers. According to the subject I would put them in folders. Use a school-planner and write the assignment that is given on the due-date (trust me, this helps). Take notes. if you're a 'sloppy' note taker, take notes in one notebook at school, but then at home copy out the notes in their own notebook according to subject. That way, it'll be much easier to study. jusy put more effort into organization and ask your friends to help you and keep you motivated. good luck!

Use this link to see a folder you should get.
Put homework in it to bring home, put homework in it immediately upon finishing. Get it in your backpack at night so you don't have to look for it in the morning. It's handy enough that you can probably carry it all day.

When you get a long term assignment - use your assignment note book and figure out how much you need to do or read every night to finish on time. OH - get an assigment notebook.

Being organized does not change who you are- it simply takes care of one part of life with a system that helps you function during the day because you aren't worrying that you left homework at home.

Good luck !!
