As most of us have see and heard fairly frequently since the start of school, teacher and adminstration are cracking down on the use of cell phones, iPods, and basically any electronic deivce you can ponder of. Zip Loc baggies have immediately become the dreaded weapons of mass nouns. But are these new restrictions taking things for a moment too far?
Cell phones are one thing. Students who take upset when their English teacher take away their phones because they were texting the character right next to them want to gain some common sense. Of course the phone is going to find taken away. Contrary to popular student opinion, we don’t be in motion to school to set book our friends nonstop; we are in actuality expected to learn something. That English educationalist came up beside a lecture to if truth be told teach something probably worth erudition, not to provide students with extra time to manual peers from deep inside purses and poorly hidden inside desks. Put the cell phone away for an hour and a half. You will survive, I promise.
IPods are a completely different story. No, this does not propose that growing your hair long, wearing a hood, and somehow weave your earphones through your shirt is going to sustain you get away next to sneaking some tunes while pretending to understand your math homework. A word to the learned, no one go before bangs to algebraic exressions, and simply about every don in this college knows that. But pay for to the point; if teachers allows students to listen to their music during positive class activities, next obviouslythey don’t mind it too much. They know what they will be teaching, when they will be guideline it, and whether or not iPods are appropriate for the given lesson. Perhaps the last thirty minutes of a class is a complete independent study that does not require listen to a teacher urge. The teacher should own the choice to allow students to listen to music if it isn’t going to be a distraction.
It all depends on the class as all right. The same rules that apply to a geometry class should not apply to a horticulture class. The administration shouldn’t be capable of stamp one big regulation on the whole college and call the right. Sure, this new policy will undoubtedly terrify several students into keeping their phones and iPods put away until the end of clas, which is clearly fine, during certain classes that require constant contribution. But, again, there are numerous classes that are mostly independent studies, and the decree should be left up to the instructor.
Cell phones and iPods are quickly becoming a necessity to teenagers, which is slightly boneless. We surely don’t need to be allowe constant use of our electronic deviced, and that isn’t what is self fought for. I think what the college is attempting with this rule is a righteous start, but it definitely wants to be revised.

Answers:    Karisue,
we should start from the beginning and afterwards work our way down your document. I see several honourable points brought up in respectively of the paragraphs; however, supporting statements come across rather tenancy.

I have read your article "critically" and hold no desire to be "critical" of it; however, like I mentioned let start at the top for now - I will come support (likely by email if you allow this and discuss more).

At the top: Beginning with the sentence "As most of us..." and culmination with the sentence that begin "But are these new restrictions..."

First, consider who your audience is to be precise reading this article. If your audience are all students who can associate "cell phones, iPods, and electronic devices" near Zip Loc Baggies - terrific! If the audience is general and you want or hope to get a broad base - next provide a sentence or two as to what the "Zip loc baggies" are being used for and how specifically.

There will be more for after that paragraphs - I found the article interesting; even so, with for a while more development this could be a much more significant tool for what ever your intent is.

More to come...
