Today was my first day of Sophomore year, and I actually miss Freshman year!!! I made some new friends, and I had some great teachers!! Kinda sad that it's over...You'd better cherish it while it lasts!!!! Ya got about 365 days to cherish!!! lol My advice for you is to cherish it (already told you that lol), do your homework and pay attention, and try to be your own person. A lot of people get into cliques and start dressing the same (I've seen this happen to people I know), and I think you should be YOU. Don't try to please everyone also. Do what's best for YOU. HAVE FUN!!!!
fun , u get comfy when u see all the kids u were with in middle school.
i loved it. my high school is like my second home.
many people should be there from your grammar school. hang with them for awhile until you meet others.
they were good just act normal and you'll be fine because you dont want to piss off the upper classmen or your screwed
p.s. watch out for freshman kill day
My freshman year sucked since I has just moved into a new state. I moved from the west coast to the east coast in the middle of the year. All the clubs were closed to new members and i was placed in the lower classes since my old school had a different system than the new one. People were so mean to me and I was a loner. i hated my freshman year. i just wish to get though high school as soon as possible.
Ive officially been a freshman since aug. second lol! I was having the exact same feelings and I almost didnt go because I was so nervous and I didnt think I could survive lol.I like highschool. Its pretty cool I mean lots of new hot guys and lots of new girls to be friends with. You shouldnt worry just be yourself and try to stay as far away from drama as you can lol!
just talk to people.i find going to highschool the easiest way to make new friends..i made friends while going to the bookroom and waiting in line.=D..the best approach is.... HI! i'm ________ ,what's your name?
BE your self dont act like an iddiot trying to turn everything in a joke though.
Making friends first make sure you know the people going from your middle to your highschool.
The kids in your neighberhood going to your highschool.
So that way you have some people you already know.
Then join a club and meet people there.
If you cant join a club because of time issue then just sit at a different lunch table with different people.
If your a girl smile alot shows people your not really shy or timid.
Make sure you make friends with your classmates by talking to them since half the time you end up having most of your classes with them
if you're school is anything like mine you'll be miserable, all the other people are so vain and aren't people, or anything like people, i grew up with. i'm a new incoming freshman and this new school is horrible. **hey ppl check my latest question and help me!! i'm in grand need of help! it has to do with if sumthing my school is doing is legal. mega important to me! help my freshman year get better**
It would be 11 years ago that i was a freshman in high school.
I remember those days like it was yesterday.
I loved every moment of it! (except for the tests)
Just remember, its no different then any other grade, other then you are 4 years away from graduating, and going into the real world.
Dont gossip, because that will get you into trouble.
Be involved - be sports, or clubs of some type. The more involved you are, they more fun you will have! And if you want to go to college, colleges like to see that you are involved in activities.
Dont sweat it, have fun. High School days are going to be over before you know it. Dont wish for tomorrow to come too soon, because in a blink of an eye, your walking across a stage, and moving on to the grown up world. (and it sucks paying bills!)
Good Luck!
It's pretty simple. Just be yourself. That, and don't tick off any upperclassmen. There's no reason to be nervous (besides upperclassmen), and the classes are (typically) a smaller step up from the last grade, more so than any gap before, so don't freak out over that. As for how to make new friends, follow the second sentence in my answer. There are plenty of people who will share your interests, and will find each other eventually. Lastly, don't be afraid to laugh, even at yourself. There is so little to laugh at in this world, find humor in everything. (Plus people love it when you find them funny.)
Hope this stuff helps. If it doesn't, just join a sports team. Then you have to communicate with people, whether you like it or not!
my 9th grade was in Jr. HS, so I was big man on campus when a freshman...you'll be the opposite...totally geeky freshman...lol...just stay out of the way of the jr's and sr's and don't embarrass yourself...lol...enjoy
