How should I be on my first day of school?

Question:I will be joining an IB school in Denmark. People come from this country or outside it. I want to stand out from everyone else and appear like a good student. I also would like to introduce myself to a lot of teachers and students as much as possible. How do I start? Should I just say "Hello I believe we're in the same class!" ask questions about the person? I am not good at starting a conversation.
9.00 assembly hall to meet principal
9.30 walk with classmates,teachers, tutors to class. handed out info. then opportunity to ask questions. (should I write down a list?)
1.30 assembly hall for a traditional dance... uhhh what should i do from there? just dance? lol
3.05 end of school.

tanja, just be cool minded and should be biased about anything whether it is the students or the teachers and the whole atmosphere. And you said u wanna to be appering like good student then don't worry u would if u take a little time in pre class preparation
I will advise you should just be friendly and be yourself.
