Starting high school. Pretty nervous.?

Question:Anytime I get up for school and I'm nervous about something happening that day I get really nervous. And I have IBS which makes it hard to eat in the morning and it makes it worse and I'm starting high school which makes me nervous and I'm afraid I'll have a panic attack because I do that a lot before school. Help.

Answers:
Unless a person has actually gone thru what you do on a daily basis they just don't understand. They might say oh get over it or calm down or you can't control things. Well it isn't as easy as just turning it off. Once a IBS attack occurs there is almost nothing you can do to stop it short of letting it run it's course or taking a calming pill. Same goes for anxiety and panic attacks. Yes there are a few people out there that can get their mind on something else and get it to stop and others it hits them so hard and quick it is too late to do anything, but try to get thru the horrible ride. You do what it takes to cope and get thru.

I suggest you get up earlier and get all that nervousness under control before you leave the house. Allow your gut time to settle down. I would ask you doctor about some pills that help you to calm down and also will help your gut at the same time.

My husband has IBS and panic attacks and he takes xanax which helps his gut to clam down too. Just this morning he had a doctors appointment and he was a nervous wreck so he took a pill about 30 minutes before he lefted and it really helped to calm him down. I am so sorry you have to go thru at such a young age.

I think often the panic and anxiety kicks in when you are worried about having a bathroom nearby and being in a place that you aren't used to.

I wish you the best. There is no need to suffer when there are things out there that can help. Maybe your parents can help you out here.
just calm down and worry about nothing not one tiny thing
Relax. You can't control everything in your life. I think that you need to figure out the difference between things that you can control and things that you cannot control. You can't let the things you can't control take over your life and worry about them constantly. If you're still having panic attacks, I suggest you go to your doctor and maybe he can suggest something to help you. In the mean time just relax, enjoy the rest of your summer. Go to your Freshman Orientation, check over your schedule, find your classrooms and find your locker. I think if you do this, it should ease some of your anxiety. I'm sure that you'll find that after a week of school, you'll see that there was no need to be so anxious. High School can be a great time, but it is what you make it, so make it great! Good Luck! Don't forget to have fun and smile!
Just relax. Everyone feels the same way. Its no big deal.
If it helps, you are not alone. Most, if not all people are nervous before school. Stay away from negative people. They are not worth your time.
just be prepared. wear a diaper if needed, just make sure u have all u need, look nice. high school is no dif than any other school. its all the same just make sure u dont screw up frosh year, i made the mistake of not doin shi1t frosh and soph and i regret it terribly
I know how panic attacks are. It really does help to take a deep breath in through your mouth and out through your mouth. It levels your breathing and calms you down a bit. Then focus on something that relaxes you like... a favorite song. For the highschool thing it's ok to be nervous because EVERY other person starting is. So try to relax and not let your panic attack do anything bad.
just be who you are and don't try to be someone you are not i know this because a lot of kids make fun of me but i don't pay no mind to them it will be OK i hope you have a good year in high school ok i hope this helps you bye
i was nervous the night before starting school last year but it just calmed down and tjust thought about something else and I didnt dwell on that to much.
I was always nervous before the first day of school myself, but a cup of weak tea, and a small piece of toast (maybe with a little peanut butter and cinnamon) usually help to settle my stomach. I would get rashes, sores, all kinds of skin conditions because of my nerves (at least for you people can't see outwardly the signs of your inner turmoil). Look up some breathing exercises and yoga moves that you can do when you first get up for school, things that will waken your body and calm your nerves. Please remember that high school is actually a very small part of your life - once you graduate you never have to see those people again if you don't want to and it has a definite ending (12th grade graduation!!). Also remember that all the other kids there are no better than you are - THEY may THINK they are or want you to think they are, but we are all the same - made by God from sand - they aren't made of gold or glitter or something else, just sand, like us. Good luck and God Bless.
I agree with LilyLouise. you can't control everything. I know it is hard, but go with the flow. all the other freshmen feel the same way, even if they don't show it! I felt the same way on my first day, but it helps if you go to the school before school starts and plan out your day. you know where your classes are, so go find them when no one is there, then on the first day it is easier! just relax and things will be ok! good luck!
DON'T BE NERVOUS! I'm entering 11th grade this upcoming school year, so I've been through two full years, and I think High School is 243232 times better then any other years at school (Other then the lower grades wayyyy back, lol). And I found Freshmen year suuuper easy, so you won't have to worry :]
