Don't be scared. It's nothing like how it's depicted in movies. Bullies are few and far between. Some people might be mean, but they are usually people you don't know who find it funny to be randomly mean to someone on one occasion.
You may also have issues with rumors or people talking about you behind your back. Rumors are *everywhere* so don't get bent out of shape over it, since it happens to a lot of people. They usually won't affect you and will just provide people with a few moments of entertainment. Then it pretty much dies down.
Through my brief high school experience I learned that you should confront someone if you have a problem with how they're treating you or acting behind your back. Girls especially can be sneaky little weasels and talk about you behind your back a lot. This can be true for girls who are bad friends. Friends will know more information about you - good and bad - than other people. If you have a bad friend they can share some things you don't want to be shared with other people.
If you're a guy you don't really have to worry about rumors being spread about you. In my experience girls are more often the subject of rumors and the target for malicious behavior than guys are.
If you're a girl (sorry I can't tell what gender you are) then that doesn't mean that you'll have a negative experience. It just means you should be careful on who you make friends with, because there are just some people in high school who can't keep their mouths shut.
School-work wise, I didn't have issues with most of my classes. If you're already terrible in a particular subject you might find that you'll have problems in a certain class. Such a class can require extra study time and maybe after-school help. If at the end of the year your overall grade is a D or a C in a particular class, don't worry about it too much. Many colleges don't put a lot of emphasis on first year grades.

No you shouldn't be scared to go into High School. You should go in aware of the difference. Stay away from the trouble makers. It easy to get caught up in the "Cliques". Being in a Clique is ok as long as it's a positive one. GOOD LUCK!!

I dropped out last year, took the year off, and you know what? I miss that place so much already. As much problems as I did have, and believe me, I had ALOT, I've wanted to go back almost since I left. I'm going back in September to finish my last two years. And I can't wait!
No way, it's much better than middle school. First of all, your classmates are more mature so there's less teasing and bullying. Also, there are lots of fun clubs, sports, and after-school activities that they don't have in middle school. The work is a little harder than middle school, but you can handle it because you're older and smarter now.
