Ive been the same way.
Starting 10th grade, I was going to a school where I didnt know basically anyone, and had only one or two friends.
I just decided to not let it bug me, and guess what? It didnt!
Just be friendly to the people you sit next to in class, and if they wanna talk to you great, if they dont, well then screw them.
Just be yourself, be independent, realize that you dont need to have a certain group, just talk to a lot of different people.
It worked for me! And by the end of the year I had a lot of different types of friends I could talk to, and was way more confident in myself.
Now Im going into 11th grade too, but at a completely new school and Im not nervous.
Just know if youre nice, and friendly to everyone, people who want to be your friend will come to you.
its nothing wrong with being friends with someone in a lower grade. you really don't need friends to get through school. find someone that you have in common with in class and go from there. i was never friends with the people i hanged around with but when you are doing a project its nice to have someone to work with. also the friends you meet in high school you rarely see out of high school.
well if it makes you feel many better there are many people that feel the way you do.
if you have special interests at school pursue them and remember you are there to get an education - so when all else fails take the opportunity to learn.
if people reject your attempt to be friends that says more about them then it does you - it is rude and insensitive and lacking in social grace to be rude to someone who is friendly.
just be aware - be a fly on the wall and you will see you are not the only one who feels left out. - observe and learn.
and in 6 years you will see - nothing spells downer like a five yr reunion.
U go bak 2 school sept 14th UR lucky i go bak aug. 27, and 2 UR question I dont know I'm going 2 b in 10th grade and I don't even know how U made it that far, Cuz i hate school every year its ALOT of home work, annoying teachers, and pain in the butt kids, and i respect u 4 actually.. well I just do... AND another thing dont worry UR not the only one who will b nervous- on the 1st day of school there's going 2 b alot of freshmens who are even more nervouse then you and the teachers believe me the teachers R human 2 there probably just as nervouse has U R.
umm well i also have the same story..im going into 9th..but i dont really have close friends i have some but some left to another place n others are just gonna be in different classes cz the highschool is huge...well i also have problems like that my normal friends are nice..but they hang out wit ppl that i dont like..cuz they do drugs n i like being around nice ppl wit good influence..they are bad influence for me but i am also nervous about everything..this gona be my first time in high school so i guess its worst for me..n by the way ppl down here are so fake..so i cant trust no one so dont feel bad
