What does the fact that 80% of the respondents could not provide a correct answer, even though a link to the correct answer was provided in the question, say about our educational system?

our education system is fine. australia is one of the smartest countries in the world. otherwise why would we have so much money. dont underestimate us. they probably just got your answer wrong because they didnt have time to check the link, due to studying. i am just saying that aussies rock!!!
The educational system is only as good as the societal fabric that supports and molds it. The capabilities of the U.S. educational machine - in terms of expertise and equipment - really hasn't ever been better. Unfortunately, the educational machine is being asked to do tasks beyond education - including feeding/nutrition, parenting and police officer.
