The key to surviving high school is to set goals and prioritize. High school students are incredibly judgemental, because they're a mirror of society. So, you might be labelled by how you set your goals and priorities.
First and foremost, remember that you are at high school to study and pass your classes with the best grades possible, because this will provide you with many opportunities in the future. A person at the top 10% of their class has many more doors open to them after 4 years than someone at the bottom 10%. Therefore, grades should be your utmost priority.
However, high school is an incredibly social atmosphere. You will interact with many different people, with different personalities and tastes, and, unfortunately, ideas about hygene. Face it, if you don't bathe, you won't have any friends. Thats just an example...seriously, though, take care of your hygene, and you won't get labelled as the smelly kid. Proper diet and exercise are also important, because people judge you on your physical appearance. This doesn't stop at high school, either.
Another important point is to always try to be nice and sociable with everyone. If you think that you're popular, and you think that you can be a jerk to people, you won't be popular for very long. At least not well liked nor recieved. The nice people that I knew in high school are the ones that I am most fond of, and would be more willing to help and hang out with now.
Above all, take a deep breath, relax, remember to always put one foot in front of the other, so you don't trip, and enjoy your time in high school, because it goes by really fast. Especially when you have 6+ classes worth of homework and 3 major projects due the next day.
Best of luck, I'm sure you'll do well.
Don't worry about fitting in! Throughout your highschool experiences you have the opportunity to meet many many people and if you try so hard to fit in with a group of people you loose sight of all of the good qualities you can pick up from people. Spend your time helping people out. Doing community service and give back what the world gives you every day.

Most of all Be you!

P.S. Its not all about relationships!
1. Don't procrastinate. Putting your work off until later will lead to huge issues. Do it as soon as it's assigned.
2. Get a lock for your locker and memorize the combo before you go to school. Also practicing opening it. It sounds stupid, but will do wonders.
3. Don't give your combo to anybody, not even your closest friends. Even if you trust them, information has a way of getting out in high school like you could never imagine.
4. Look over your scheduale a few times every night and you'll have it memorized in no time.
5. If you have two classes very close to eachother right in a row, bring your materials for both classes at once. This will prevent you from being late by going all the way back to your locker.
6. If you aren't allowed a backpack during the school day, bring a big tote bag (like those at american eagle and abercrombie, but you don't need a name brand or anything) and carry books, notebooks, etc. in it. It will be amazingly useful.
7. Color-code your subjects! For example, all my math stuff is red, all my science stuff is blue, etc.
8. Be yourself!! High schoolers are far more accepting than middle schoolers. You will be respected by not only other freshmen, but sophomores, juniors and possible even seniors if you don't try to be someone you're not. Be a kind and considerate person, not "that obnoxious freshman who thinks she owns the school."

Don't worry about high school. The whole concept that it's scary and horrible is completely overblown. People won't scope out the "stupid freshmen" and stick them in lockers, beat them up or give them swirlies. You'll have a great time, believe me.
