BE YOURSELF!! This is the year that people will group together and stay together!! This year you will definately see the the difference between "popular" and "geeks" and before seventh grade i didn't belive in a popularity hierarchy. Also get good grades and don't get the teachers mad. This will be the hardest year in middle school, both academically and mentally social wise.
