Don't act like someone you're not. Make a lot of friends, join clubs or do sports, like soccer or girl's football or something like that. Getting involved is the key to having a great year. And have lots of fun! Remember, it's best to do your school work first so that you can have plenty of fun later on. Trust me, I learnt that the hard way.

7) Don't be ashamed to get tutoring, if needed
8) On the first day in EACH CLASS, get the names, telephone numbers & e-mails of three students in that class. That way you can call or text & get homework assignments or ask questions.
9) Participate regularly in class discussions
10) Befriend one lonely kid with no friends
11) Compliment each teacher; not every day, but occasionally. They love that.
12) Let the principal, VP, yard duties, cafeteria people, secretaries, etc. know that you appreciate what they do for you. They love that, & will help you when you need help.

Nothing you can do. I know I'm repeating this to all the other similar questions. But it's the truth. Nothing you can do. Be prepared for the worst 3 or 4 years of your life.
Find your (academic) passions.
Remember: the decisions you make now will effect you for the rest of your life.
Be yourself! Don't ever lie just to make friends.
Choose your friends, don't let them choose you.
Find your niche.
Join the tennis and softball teams.
Live each day to the fullest. Tell someone something really nice and be graceful in accepting compliments.
Be courteous.
Don't go out with a guy just because he has a great car or because other girls want him. You can always test drive a car or have your heart broken by making good decisions!
