The entrance exam is hard and requires preparation. however if you do get into your desired private school then it is well worth it. the last factor is cost. an average private school will run between $10,000 - $25,000 a year. if you can afford it however it is very well worth it. I am glad I chose private school.
Well you will have the potential to get a better education in a private high school. However, if you live in an area with decent public schools, going to a private high school is mostly a waste of money. Really you get out of an education what you put into it. Also, I'd imagine people at private schools are elitest and unfriendly.
The great thing about public school is the variety: people, classes, activities, sports, etc. Depending on which private school you are considering, all of those things could be severely limited.
