I'm in agreement with everyone else that geometry was the easiest of the two. It's still a class that will have homework though. It's not like being on the yearbook club. Consider what the total weight of your courses are. If you have several easy classes (PE, Art, Drafting...), but only a few 'required' courses, then you will probably be able to handle it. On the other hand, if you have english, american history, chemistry and algebra II, then you might not want to overload yourself with another math class. It depends on what you can handle. Enjoy your time in high school though because you only get it once!! Good luck!
I took four math courses in college concurrently. (Math major)
Math isn't any harder than chemistry or writing. It will be a class that you won't be able to blow off.
I don't think you will have any problems. Algebra II is a bit more complicated. You will need a calculator when they cover statistics and probability. Algebra II has a lot of stuff that you will actually use in life - compound interest, how to compute probabilities. Geometry is really a lot of abstract thinking and logic. I found Geometry easier than Algebra II.
Go for it. Ultimately, the importance is getting prepped for college.
It probably varies from school to school and from teacher to teacher, but I know of students at my school who took both at once. They were at the lower end of the smarter students and they pulled it off, but I doubt they received A's in both, if in either.
I think geometry is pretty easy. It's very different than algebra. If you had difficulty with algebra I, algebra II will likely also be hard.
However, it can come down to how much you like the subject. I got mostly B's in math throughout high school, but it was largely because I didn't care all that much about the material. If you have a good teacher and you enjoy math (at least somewhat), it shouldn't be too bad. Plus, if you do well, it will look pretty nice to colleges.
I say, try to do both, and if it seems doable, go for it.
May God bless you.
Since you're smart, I don't think you'll have a problem with Geom. Algebra II 's also fine.. In my opinion, it's not really that easy but if you practice, then you'll be able to maintain high grades. But also... you have to be good at memorizing formulas. But I think you'll be able to pull it off. ^_^
