Question:I'm studying Harper Lee's famous novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, and Heck Tate, the sheriff, decided not to turn Boo Radley over to the law. I just wondered if he was totally right to act this way.
Answers:
Cool you're reading the same book as I am. I'm actually having a final on that book tomorrow. Here are 3 reasons why it was RIGHT of him:
1) Since Bob Ewell indirectly killed Tom Robinson by accusing him and putting him in a rape case trial, it would kind of seem fair to "Let the dead bury the dead"
2) Tom Robinson died for no reason, and now the man responsible is dead.
3) Bob Ewell, himself, is evil through and through. He felt no remorse for Tom after the trial and even said "one down and about two more to go". He continued to terrorize Tom's wife and the Judge Taylor himself and he made a threat to Atticus at the post office few days after the court case.
