For me most of the stuff in pre-calc didn't really appear in calculus. Some of it is . . .you need to look up those pythagoram identities( that's the only thing that appeared in my calc class) Pre calc was just a lot of trig.I think that if you have a really good teacher, you will be fine. A.P calc is a really hard class . . . if you're intent on going through with all the A.P exams, don't do it. Do the A.P bio and A.P chem first. The A.P calc exam is really hard and so is A.P Chem. Its going to be like one exam right after the other. Its hard because there's a lot of prep going there. I suggest that you wait until your senior year to take A.P calc especially if you want to get good results. Most good colleges require a 4 or 5 and its really hard to get a 4 on the A.P Chem test. Its easy to get a 5 on the A.P Bio test, but you have really start memorizing a lot. Half the people in my A.P Calc class didn't take the exam because it was too hard and they had to focus on there other A.P's. The good news is that colleges seem to accept a 3 or better for A.P calc. Good luck
Pre calc helps but since you are a strong in Math then you should have some difficulty early on but will catch on fast.
You may get a little behind and confused in the begining of the year but you'll catch up. don't worry.
Have you taken geometry and trigonometry at honors, accelerated, or AP level? If so you should be fine. I took AP Calculus in my junior year and I did great! The final gave me a good smack, but I still passed with an A. If you get A's in honors, AP, etc (especially math courses) then you should be fine with a geometry and trig base.
No u dont need precal 4 Cal, but AP Cal is a little tough. I would recommend that you keep up with it and ask your Teacher if anything is unclear the same day...
Calculus is very different than the other math you know. I had a CRUMMY calculus teacher and fell behind. I NEVER recovered. I would be careful. Take the pre-calc.
since your teacher is going to help you out, I honestly dont think you have anything to worry about.
if ap calc in jr yr then what math in sr yr?
I am old school and they didn't have all these offerings when I went to hs. Equiv to your pre calc was the max. Then in summer session JC after I graduated I took calc. Calc was a breeze because the instructor was great but I was at least a yr older. Don't sweat it. Probably better to challenge yourself that to spend a year bored in pre calc. Good luck and don't take things to seriously, remember to be a kid now and then.
