But... you'd best concentrate, or you'll have blown your whole excuse for being in there. ;)
If you need both courses and there are openings, just ask. If you are looking to change and postpone a prerequisite for something else just to be in the same very large lecture hall as a friend, you have a priorities problem.
just ask and say that physics would be of more use than pre-calc in the profession you want to persue
