But I don't feel as though I would like chemistry, and physics has always interested me more.
Are there any core classes that I should have taken before going into physics? Is it harder than I imagine?
Answers:
In Grade 11, I took Physics without taking Chemistry and did alright in it. Though, in our Grade 10 Science class, we learned some Physics, Biology and Chemistry, so that might have helped, not sure.
My school recommends having taken Pre-Cal 20 before taking Physics 30. I think it's preferred you take Pre-Cal 30, too, but I didn't take that and passed with a 70%.
I found it a little difficult. There's a lot of concepts to cover, with plenty of formulas to use. I found it a little overwhelming at times, but I'm not very good at things like that (thus why I didn't take Pre-Cal).
Chemistry and physics do kind of go hand in hand, but you can take one first then the other or take them simultaneously. It will all "come out in the wash".
In my school you have to take Physcial Science, Chemistry, and either Calculus or Pre Calculus. So it might be a better idea to take Chemistry first.
no, you don't need to take chemistry before physics. I would take chemistry before you take biology though.
Have a good background in math going into physics and you'll be fine. I heard it's really not that hard.
I took Phyiscs at my high school in Freshman year. I passed with 107% and I was never very good with science.
