Very serious I'd say.
It doesn't matter if he's a retard. But if not, then you can compare his nawlej to a 3 yr old tyke.
How can you not know how to spell that... =(
I'd definently suggest extra tutoring\staying after school (which is free)
Pretty serious. It could be just an errant thing I would see what they do or do not know how to spell and go from there. May be a learning disability or dyslexia.
VERY serious...I'd say that is a 5-6 year old level
stupiddd alot he was supposed to know it from first grade
hello
r u sure u said the word properly? or r u the 8th grader? cause that would suck but hey just practice ur spelling.
O_O!!! That's SERIOUS. I'm just hoping that English isn't their first language, or they have some mental problems, or something, jeez...
pretty serious.
Umm Retarded...?
It's not good.. Is it like just that specific word, or a lot of easy ones? If it's just that one I wouldn't be too concerned. Well maybe I would..
It's pretty serious. I'm surprised his school allowed him to make it into eigth grade.
Oh my God...
I'd start wondering if they received traumatic brain injury. Even special needs children can spell bed by eighth grade.
And if he cant spell bed what is he doing in eighth grade? Our school systems are failing so badly it scares me.
Xttremly serious
Everyone who has difficulty with spelling words correctly can derive some comfort from knowing that some very good writers have been notoriously bad spellers. It's also comforting to bad spellers to know that this business of spelling seems to have little to do with intelligence. It has more to do with how we remember things. Some people, once they've seen a word spelled correctly, will never misspell that word again. Those are the people who, if you ask them how to spell a word, will first say, "Wait a second. Let me write it down." If you are not a strong visual learner, but learn in other ways, you will have to learn some other tricks to become a strong speller.
its serious and pathetic, is english their second language?
cuz if thats the case how did the person make it to 8th grade??
not very detailed. when did he/she do this? how often does he/she do this? did this only happen once by accident or does he/she spell it wrong every time they're asked to spell it? did he/she have any learning disabilities in their younger years?
..depends. You sure, he/she wasn't mocking you?
well just be there for support don't mock your friend or you really are not their friend at all ...have a private conversation with them and ask them directly if they are indeed having problems with their education ...then lead them in the right direction to seek help if it is needed ...
Many children slip through their education as it is to often an ignored issue...
Be a freind.. :)
I would highly recommend they get a tutor and maybe even go back to elementary school for a while.
Relatavistically, it's somewhat common.
Altruistically, is a sad state on the Education system in America (right, this can't be Canada or Austrailia or the world is in REAL trouble!)
