I'm running for the president of a club in school...?

Question:And I really want to win, but everyone in the club knows me as someone who is shy and lacks confidence. How can I improve my chances of getting more votes when giving the speech? Will saying the speech more confidently help?
I'm not that popular...will that decrease my chances of being elected?

Answers:
If you give your speech with great self-confidence, people will probably be more likely to vote for you. Also, if you have some good ideas for the club you should share them in your speech. While delivering your speech, look at each person directly in the eye, it will make the audience know you are confident and want the position of president. And if you end up losing because the election becomes a popularity contest, that's horrible and you can't really do anything about it unfortunately. Best wishes in the election!
