Get one, unless you want to run to your locker between all your classes. It will really save you some time if you just stop at your locker a couple times a day and have your stuff in your backpack.

No, about 75% of the people bring backpacks the first day..but I think it'd just be easier bringing basic supplies (notebooks, folders, pencils, pens) the first day, just carrying it ..or putting it in a nike bag, and the second day bring markers, colored pencils, etc. in a backpack and keep it in your locker until you need them=]

just take basics in it like a bottle of water, pens and paper... they'll probably give you loads of books, so it will be better to have it with you to carry all of them home in!
At least bring a binder or a folder, a pencil, a notebook if you feel like it, and anything else you might need, like a cell phone or lunch money. A backpack isn't totally necessary.

If you want to, you can, but if you don't want to, you don't have to. On the first day of school, if you are the only one with/without a backpack, then either keep it (if other people have one) or ditch it (if other people don't have one). Good luck with junior high. I'm in my last year of middle school (junior high) and will be in high school next year.
yeah probably you should because on the first day of school, they usually pass out textbooks to take home. But all you need to bring in your bookbag is like a spiral notebook or some looseleaf paper and pencils and pens to write important things down.
