I sat the first year of GCSE's ever and they started in September 1986 with my exams being May, June, July 1988. A levels were already around so unsure when they began.
Where ? Which country ? ;/ Different country have different education system.
it was some-time in the late 80's (or at least that was what i have been led to believe).
1987 at a guess for GCE?. I am unsure for A Levels!!.
