I am not satisfied with the grading system entirely. The grading system will only reduce the level of competitiveness among the "brighter" students who aim for the 80-90%. It is always nice to have a healthy competition where the students struggle hard to aim for highest percentage in class.
Besides, there is no clear demarcation in a grading system. Even if you get 85%-90% or 90%-100%, a student is simply awarded with a certain common grade. Here you cannot spot the difference between extremely intelligent and normally intelligent students.
Of course, this system proves to be good for below-average students. If intense competition is not taken into account, there will be less incidents where students commit suicide just because they have obtained less than 50% in a particular exam.
