Depends on the class and the teacher, if the teacher is big on participation you should sit in the front cause then you can speak up more easily in class, but personally I prefer the back because I can see what everyone else is doing and also I get tired of being the fall back answer person for every question the teacher can't find someone else to answer, this lets me keep some distance between us and I can avoid the whole 'your the teachers pet' attitude from other students.
so they can better hear the teacher.
I dont like sitting in front because you get called on too much. i get A's and i sit in the middle so i wont easily get distracted in the back.
they sit in the front so they dont get distracted by the goons in the back. i prefer to sit in the back. that way i dont hav to listen to the teachers go on and on.
I usually like sitting in the back because I can get away with not working or talking to my friend or just taking my time. I get kind of nervous when I'm close to the teacher, because I feel like I'm constantly being watched. I also like to watch the rest of the class and see how they act in class.
Don't get me wrong. I listen and get my work done in class (most of the time. I do have my off days, as I'm sure everyone does.) . I do get high marks in my classes, so I obviously know where to draw the line.
Though sitting at the front is alright at times, too. Last year I did that, and the teacher and I would always joke around and stuff and it was quite fun. And I can usually listen better in the front.
I just pick wherever I get the 'vibe' from when I first walk in the class on the first day. I don't think it has failed me yet.
sit where you want to just be nice and helpful.
